Therapy Services for Children
This improves the family’s ability to provide effective support for the child and improves the child’s function within the family.
The program uses a multidisciplinary team approach; focusing on family treatment, parenting, and behavior management, along with an awareness of community services and resources. The team works with the family to enhance problem-solving, limit setting, communication, risk management and safety planning to promote a sustainable recovery. The services are provided by a qualified clinician who may work in a team with other professionals.
Program components include:
- Comprehensive home-based behavioral health assessment and development of an individualized treatment plan
- Crisis intervention including de-escalation techniques and behavioral support for families
- Intensive family therapy including evaluation of the individual and family with focus on finding practical solutions
- Care coordination with providers and collateral contacts
- Skills training and coaching for youth and parent / guardian / caregiver
- Identification of community resources for youth and their families
- Complete aftercare planning and consultation
- 24-hour urgent response accessible by phone to youth and family year-round
Children may be referred to the program as a treatment alternative to a higher level of care or as a step down in easing the transition home from foster care, hospitalization or other out-of-home placement.
